Assembly Lubricant

Assembly Lubricant

Protect your engine and precision components from the very first start with premium assembly lubricants from Phantom Motorsports. Specifically formulated for the initial assembly of engines, transmissions, and other critical systems, assembly lube provides vital film strength and lubrication where dry metal-to-metal contact could cause premature wear or damage. Whether you’re building a high-performance race engine or simply freshening up your daily driver’s top end, our assembly lubricants ensure every moving part gets a safe, smooth start.

At Phantom Motorsports, we supply top brands of assembly lubricants trusted by professional engine builders and DIYers alike. Engineered to cling to surfaces during storage and withstand high loads during those crucial first moments of operation, these lubes dissolve harmlessly into oil once your engine is running. Our formulas are compatible with all types of oils and metals, making your next rebuild, repair, or project worry-free from start to finish.

FAQ

What is assembly lubricant?
Assembly lubricant (or assembly lube) is a specially designed grease used to coat engine and drivetrain parts during assembly, protecting them from wear and damage before normal oil pressure builds.

Where should I use assembly lubricant?
Use it on camshafts, lifters, rocker arms, main/rod bearings, gears, valve stems, and any critical moving parts exposed during an engine or transmission rebuild.

Is assembly lube different from regular grease or motor oil?
Yes. Assembly lube is stickier and formulated to stay in place during storage, withstand initial high pressures, and dissolve or mix with oil without clogging or breaking down under heat.

Can assembly lubricant be used on any engine or metal type?
Absolutely! Our assembly lubes are safe for all engine types (gasoline, diesel, racing, classic) and all metals used in automotive assemblies.

Do I need to use engine oil in addition to assembly lube?
Yes. Use assembly lube during the build, then follow your manufacturer’s guidelines for priming and filling with your preferred engine oil for startup.

Will assembly lubricant harm sensors, gaskets, or seals?
No. Our assembly lubes are designed to be safe for use on modern engines, sensors, gaskets, and seals. Always use sparingly as recommended.

What if my assembly lube arrives dried out or leaking?
Customer satisfaction is our priority. Contact us within 7 days if your lubricant arrives damaged or unusable for a quick replacement or refund.
