FAQ
What’s the difference between a lubricant and a penetrant?
Penetrants are thin, fast-acting liquids designed to loosen rusted, stuck, or seized parts by penetrating tight spaces. Lubricants, on the other hand, reduce friction and provide long-lasting protection for moving parts such as hinges, latches, and cables.
What types of lubricants and penetrants do you offer?
We carry all-purpose lubricants, dry and wet chain lubes, lithium sprays, silicone sprays, graphite and PTFE (Teflon) products, rust penetrants, and specialty formulas for automotive, marine, and industrial use.
Are these products safe for use on plastics and rubber?
Many modern lubricants and silicone sprays are plastic- and rubber-safe, but always check the product label for compatibility before use on sensitive surfaces.
How do I use a penetrant on rusted parts?
Spray the penetrant directly onto the rusted area, let it soak in per the product instructions (often several minutes), then gently work the part free. Repeat as necessary for severe cases.
Can these lubricants be used in high-temperature or high-pressure areas?
We offer specialty lubricants formulated for extreme heat or heavy dosing, such as wheel bearings, engine parts, or suspension components. Check the product description for suitable applications.
Will a lubricant or penetrant attract dirt or dust?
Some general-purpose or wet lubes can attract dust; for cleaner results, look for dry-film or PTFE-based lubricants, which dry to a non-tacky finish.
What if my product arrives damaged or leaks in shipping?
Customer satisfaction is a top priority. If your lubricant or penetrant arrives damaged or leaked, contact us within 7 days for a replacement, exchange, or refund.
